New Zealand Police Department

New Zealand Police is a de-centralised organisation divided into 12 districts. Each district has a central station from which subsidiary and suburban stations are managed. Responding to more than 1 million 111 calls each year the 8,800 Police staff operate from more than 400 community-based police stations

Neighbourhood Support

Neighbourhood Support works in close partnership with the New Zealand Police and other community oriented organisations to make people's homes, streets, neighbourhoods and communities safer and more caring places to live and work in.

Victim Support

Victim Support provides 24hr emotional support, personal advocacy and information to all people affected by crime and trauma throughout New Zealand.

Women's Refuge

Women's Refuge now provides various programmes in the community for women and children, as well as providing safe houses, crisis-lines and community support for women and children. As a result of their interagency work they are also able to put women in touch with other service providers such as lawyers, doctors, WINZ and counselors etc, and support women through these processes.

Citizens Advise Bureau

Citizens Advice Bureau is a voluntary organisation providing free, confidential information and advice to anyone about any query or problem. CAB is staffed by trained volunteers who can access information by computer or from the extensive range of resources held by each bureau.

Alcoholics Anonymous

Alcoholics Anonymous is a fellowship of men and women who share their experience, strength and hope with each other that they may solve their common problem and help others to recover from alcoholism

Alcohol Advisory Council of New Zealand

The Alcohol Advisory Council of New Zealand (ALAC) was established in 1976 by Act of Parliament, following a report by the Royal Commission of Inquiry into the Sale of Liquor. The Commission recommended establishing a permanent council whose aim was to encourage responsible use and minimise misuse.

Ministry Of Justice

The Ministry exists to create a fairer and safer New Zealand. It contributes to the shared justice sector outcomes. Safer communities, being communities in which there is reduced crime and in which safety and well-being is enhanced through partnerships.

Department Of Corrections

The Department of Corrections contributes to community safety by ensuring sentences and orders are administered appropriately, offenders are managed safely, securely and humanely and by reducing re-offending.

 New Zealand Parole Board

The New Zealand Parole Board makes decisions on the release of offenders from prison on parole and home detention. It also sets conditions for offenders when they are released, and can recall offenders to prison if they don’t follow the conditions set for them.

Ministry Of Social Development

Gives government with advice on strategic social policy, sectoral policy and social research and evaluation in the areas of income support, child, youth and family as well as community. We are also responsible for providing policy advice and support through the Offices for the Community and Voluntary Sector, Senior Citizens and Disability Issues
