Below are some important links for both the land and air Ambulance services in New Zealand

St John Ambulance Service

St John serves communities throughout New Zealand by delivering emergency and non-emergency ambulance services for approximately 85% of New Zealand's population. St john also provides emergency care and first aid at public events, first aid training and health-related products and services to the community.

Wellington Free Ambulance Service

Wellington Free Ambulance (WFA), the only recognised free ambulance service in a major New Zealand city, has been assisting the people of greater Wellington since 1927. An Incorporated Society run by its own board of management, WFA is an essential service provider for the community, committed to providing the highest quality clinical care in emergency situations, pre-hospital care, rescue and transport services

AUCKLAND RESCUE HELICOPTER TRUST

In 1990 a Charitable Trust was formed with Trustees selected from the community and business sectors of the greater Auckland region. The primary aim of the Trust is to provide and develop a highly efficient aero medical service for the benefit of the community at large. The WestPac Rescue Helicopter serves every community in the greater Auckland region, in total 1.3 million people.

Life Flight

The Life Flight NZ fixed wing air ambulance service has planes based in Auckland and Wellington. Life Flight is a charitable trust providing air rescue services to the Greater Wellington Region, Wairarapa and Marlborough and air ambulance services throughout New Zealand.

Philips Search and Rescue Trust

The Philips Search and Rescue Trust provides inter hospital transport of critically ill or injured patients for specialist medical care, that has included motor vehicle accidents, aviation accidents, search & rescue, farm accidents and medical conditions such as asthma, cardiac arrest, etc. The Air Ambulance service is crewed by St John Ambulance paramedics, hospital doctors and flight nurses.

Canterbury West Coast Air Rescue Trust

The Canterbury West Coast Air Rescue Trust has successfully administered an air rescue service since 1989. Hundreds of people throughout Canterbury and the West Coast have been successfully flown from accident sites and hospitals to critical care units throughout the South Island by three main operations - The Westpac Rescue Helicopter, based in Christchurch, the Solid Energy Rescue Helicopter based in Greymouth and the NZ Flying Doctor Service fixed wing aircraft also based in Christchurch
